Overview

Emerging clinical evidence continues to support the utility of TAVR in expanded patient populations, including those with low surgical risk. As use of the practice in low-risk patients expands, continued education is needed to sustain positive TAVR outcomes in these circumstances. This program provides a comprehensive overview of findings from the latest TAVR studies, tips for optimal treatment decision-making in low-risk cases, and considerations specific to TAVR in bicuspid patients. Real-world case presentations will be accompanied by engaging panel discussions and Q&A sessions, all of which will provide a comprehensive crash course on the changing face of TAVR populations.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Define results of recent studies on TAVR and implications for low-risk patients
  • Describe approaches for decision-making and optimizing TAVR
  • Identify approaches and techniques specific to TAVR in bicuspid patients

This educational activity is designed for interventional cardiologists, clinical cardiologists, and other healthcare professionals involved in the management of aortic stenosis (AS) patients.

Evaluation by questionnaire will address content, presentation effectiveness, possible bias, and future educational needs.
